++ Installation Guide of Braille Sense Display Driver for JAWS 2011-01-26 HIMS International Corporation. -- Please be sure that this driver is compatible with JAWS 10 or higher version so earlier than JAWS 10 may not work correctly. We assume that you¡¯ve already installed JAWS 10 or higher version on your PC. If not, please install JAWS in advance. This driver can be used for following Sense Notetaker. 1. Braille Sense Classic v5.2 or higher version. 2. Braille Sense PLUS B32 v5.2 or higher version. 3. Braille Sense OnHand v5.5 or higher version. 4. Braille Sense PLUS Qwerty v5.2 or higher version. 5. Voice Sense v5.2 or higher version(only with Keyboard). 6. Voice Sense Qwerty v5.2 or higher version(only with Keyboard). ?Some languages do not support the Voice Sense for the terminal for the Screen Reader. Here are default key descriptions for the Braille Sense or Voice Sense using Braille Keyboard or Qwerty Keyboard. This document is consisted of guides for installation/deletion, USB connection, Serial Connection and Bluetooth connection. -- ++ HOW TO INSTALL Braille Sense Display Driver. 1. Download Installer from the below link to your PC. www.himsintl.com/Upload/JAWS/Braille_Sense_Driver(v1.0)_For_JAWS.zip. Please be sure that the zip file size is exactly 4,048,277 bytes (almost 3.86 MB). 2. Unzip the downloaded zip file on your PC. 3. Run the installer program and installation wizard will be started. - To start installation, clink ¡°Install¡± bottom. - This time, if you haven¡¯t installed the JAWS yet, the installer will warn you with the message ¡°JAWS is not existed¡± and you can¡¯t advance installation any more. 4. Once the installer completely installed necessary files for JAWS, ¡°Device Driver Installation Wizard¡± will be appeared. It is the USB driver to make connection between Braille Sense and JAWS via USB cable. - To start installation, click ¡°next¡± button. - Select ¡°HIMS USB¡± in the list box and click ¡°finish¡± button - Now all process of installation have been done. - To finish installation, click ¡°finish¡± button. ++ HOW TO MAKE USB Connection using USB cable. 1. Once you have installed the Braille Sense Display driver for JAWS, Connect the USB OTG cable into the USB OTG port on the Braille Sense and the wider end of the cable should be connected into USB port on your computer. 2. Run ¡°Terminal for the Screen Reader¡± under the ¡°Utility¡± menu on the Braille Sense. 3. Select ¡°USB port (u)¡± and you will see the ¡°New Hardware Wizard¡± on your PC. 4. Choose ¡°Yes, this time only¡± and then press ¡°Next¡± button. 5. Select ¡°Install the software automatically¡± and then press ¡°Next¡± button. 6. You will see the next screen and then press ¡°Next¡± button. 7. Press ¡®finish¡¯ button then installation will be completed. - For the next time when you connect the Braille Sense to PC, there is no need to install or register the USB driver. 8. Run JAWS and select ¡°Braille¡± under the ¡°File¡± menu in the JAWS. 9. Select ¡°Braille Sense¡± as a ¡°Default Braille Display¡± and ¡°USB¡± as a port. - That¡¯s all that you can connect the Braille Sense to JAWS via USB cable. ++ HOW TO MAKE Serial Connection. 1. Connect the Braille Sense to PC using serial cable that is included in package. - Voice Sense and Braille Sense OnHand does not have the Serial port so you can¡¯t connect the Voice Sense via the serial port. 2. Run ¡°Terminal for the Screen Reader¡± under the ¡°Utility¡± menu. 3. Select ¡°Serial port (s)¡± to use serial interface. 4. Please make sure that the message is ¡°terminal mode¡±. 8. Run JAWS and select ¡°Braille¡± under the ¡°File¡± menu in the JAWS. 9. Select ¡°Braille Sense¡± as a ¡°Default Braille Display¡± and physical COM port(maybe COM1) as a port. - That¡¯s all that you can connect the Braille Sense to JAWS via USB cable. ++ HOW TO MAKE Bluetooth Serial Connection 1. Click ¡°Add¡± button in Bluetooth Dialog in XP SP2. 2. Check ¡°My device is set up and ready to be found¡± checkbox in order for other Bluetooth device to find your PC. 3. Searching the Bluetooth devices nearby your PC. 4. Select the ¡°Braille Sense PLUS¡± that you want to connect to. 5. Enter the PINCODE to trust between two devices and then click ¡°next¡± button. - At this time, the Braille Sense will require PINCODE against your PC. - Trusting between two devices. - Complete trusting between two devices. - Your PC will make the virtual Bluetooth serial port automatically. - Please make sure that the Bluetooth serial port are made correctly.(outgoing port: COM17). - It is possible that the port is different from example per each PC. 6. Run ¡°Terminal for the Screen Reader¡± under the ¡°Utility¡± menu. 7. Select ¡°Bluetooth serial port (s)¡± to use serial interface. 8. Please make sure that the message is ¡°terminal mode¡±. 9. Run JAWS and select ¡°Braille¡± under the ¡°File¡± menu in the JAWS. 10. Select ¡°Braille Sense¡± as a ¡°Default Braille Display¡± and ¡°USB¡± as a port. 11. Select ¡°Braille Sense¡± as ¡°Default Braille Display¡± and ¡°COM17¡± as ¡°Select the output port¡±. - That¡¯s all that you can connect the Braille Sense to JAWS via Bluetooth Serial Port. ++ HOW TO REMOVE Braille Sense Display driver 1. Move to the folder where the JAWS was installed. - For example of that you installed it in ¡°C:\Program Files\Freedom Scientific¡±. 2. Move to ¡°\Shared\Drivers\Braille\1.0\ThirdParty\brlsense¡± from the folder. 3. Run ¡°Uninstaller.exe¡± 4. When running the JAWS, following message will be displayed. - ¡®In order to complete the uninstallation action, you must reboot the computer. If you do not want to reboot the computer now, the uninstallation will be complete when you reboot the computer.¡¯ 5.
